Italian pianist Giacomo Tora recently gained international attention with his debut album, Hommage à BACH, and his sold-out debut at Pianissimo Festival. His performances have been praised by critics, with Dmitry Morozov of Gazeta Igraem describing him as “a well-established musician with a magnificent piano apparatus and a bright personality.”
“He equally harmoniously and insightfully represents the Baroque era, the Romantics, and modernists. In his playing, one can see the geometry of their compositions,” wrote Ekaterina Belyaeva in Del’Arte Magazine.
Giacomo Tora has performed at venues across Europe, India and Russia, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai. Festival appearances include the XXXV International Chamber Music Festival ‘Umbria Classica’, the Keyboard & Voice Festival at the Old Royal Naval College and Blackheath Halls, and the Pianissimo Festival.
He was awarded the RTPF Prize at the Sheepdrove Intercollegiate Piano Competition in the UK and is a prize-winner of piano competitions in Italy, Spain and the UK.
He studied with Roberta Bambace in Italy and Deniz Arman Gelenbe in London, where he also received coaching from Martino Tirimo, Mikhail Kazakevich and Sergio De Simone. He has attended masterclasses with Pascal Rogé, Bruno Canino and Françoise Thinat.
