A private piano school in the heart of Marylebone, on Baker Street, for children, adults and advanced pianists. We teach pupils how to practise intelligently, understand music from the inside, and solve difficult passages rather than simply repeat them.

Demystifying piano technique through clear instructions.
Our teaching begins with understanding. Before repeating a passage, we make the task clear: what is happening in the score, what sound is intended, and what movement is required to produce it.
The action is guided step by step until it is understood. Repetition then has a purpose: it consolidates a solution rather than rehearsing a problem.

Teaching is shaped around the pupil sitting at the piano: their experience, hands, ears, ambitions and the way they learn. There is no fixed syllabus that every pupil must follow.

Student recitals at Blüthner Piano Centre give musicians something real to prepare for and bring the school together: children, adults, families, teachers and listeners sharing the same room around the piano. Performance is offered as part of development, never imposed before a student is ready.
Performance is something we learn to do, too.
In practice, we slow things down and work consciously: understanding the score, solving a movement, listening and correcting. With purposeful repetition, these decisions become habits.
